If you purchased BYO sim SPOT GPS device, the next step to get your device to go online is to install your own sim card.
Compatible Australian sim cards to use:
a) ALDI Mobile (Recommended)
b) Woolworths Mobile
c) Telstra
d) Boost Mobile
Steps on how to install sim card, please refer to this link: https://help.nuttag.com.au/how-to-install-your-own-sim-card/
Once done installing sim card, please reboot your device and send SMS command to the phone number of your newly installed sim card. Refer to the image below:

Each network provider has its own APN settings, refer below for the correct apn settings:
ALDI Mobile ---> mdata.net.au
Woolworths Mobile ---> mdata.net.au
Telstra ---> telstra.internet
Boost Mobile ---> Boost_Mobile
